» Australian surgeon pioneers 're-feminising' facelift

An Australian plastic surgeon claims to have developed a new procedure that makes older women look more feminine again. Dr Victoria Vitale-Lewis told wesh.com that women tended to find that fat from their cheekbones falls towards the jowls as they age, widening the jaw and making them appear more manly. However, he explained that his new feminine face-lift focuses on "re-feminising" the face instead of just stretching out wrinkles.

One patient, Sandy Bozik, told the website that she was very happy with the results. Prior to surgery, Dr Vitale-Lewis asked her to bring in a photo that showed her when she was at school. This image was used to dictate the facelift.

"I think women are afraid of facelifts not because they're afraid of surgery, but because they're afraid they'll come out pulled and funny and it doesn't look natural," she explained.

"I feel great about it; I'm so used to it now. I just wish I'd done it years ago."

Recently, research in the Archives of Facial Plastic Surgery showed that a new procedure called carbon dioxide laser resurfacing could help reduce the signs of aging in the face.
