News » Maria Sainz Named President and CEO of Concentric Medical
Ms. Sainz brings to Concentric almost twenty years of experience in the
cardiovascular medical technology area. Most recently she was President
of the Cardiac Surgery division of Guidant Corporation and led the
transition and integration of the Cardiac Surgery division into Boston
Scientific following the merger of the two companies. Prior to that,
Ms. Sainz served as Vice President, Global Marketing of the Vascular
Intervention division of Guidant, which followed her assumption of
increasingly broad leadership roles for Guidant in both the United
States and in Europe. Ms. Sainz also serves on the board of two
healthcare technology companies.

"She has the leadership and experience necessary to accelerate Concentric's rate of growth and to take Concentric to a new level of success."
Ms. Sainz succeeds Gary Curtis, who served as the Chief Executive Officer of the company since July 2002 and who recently decided to step down after 40 years in the medical device industry. Mr. Curtis said, "I am deeply proud of all that we have accomplished at Concentric Medical over the past five and a half years. Now is the appropriate time to transition to new leadership that will take the company to the next level."
